Parnassos is one of the most beautiful mountains of Greece, fully planted with pine trees from Kefalonia, with a rich vegetation and rare natural beauty that charms the visitor all year long. Parnassos Ski Center operates at the mountain, from December until the beginnings of May, on an altitude of 1600- 2250 meters, at the locations Kelaria and Fterolakka. It is the biggest and most organized ski center of our country.
The construction of Parnassos Ski Center begun in 1975 and was completed in 1976, when the installations of Fterolakka started to operate. In 1981 the construction of the installations at Kelaria was finished, while in 1987-1988 "Ermis" went into operation, the linking lift between Fterolakka and Kelaria. In 1993 the first air four-seat lift of modern technology in Greece, was added, the modern "Hercules" at the location of Kelaria.
The ski center disposes 19 tracks, 7 ski trails, 10 paths and three mini tracks for the beginners, all are of total length of approximately 36 km. The tracks are from 50m to 4km length for beginners, medium and expert skiers. For those who admire adventure, there are 12 off-track "black" trails with really deep snow and much adrenaline. The center is known for the high measures of security at installations, machines and its great operation in general.
Parnassos Ski Center is a protagonist at the choice of the skiers, as it is very near to Athens, Lamia and Patra and its installations allow it to serve a great number of guests and skiers. At the center there are two cafeterias- chalet and a restaurant, ski and snowboard learning schools, ski equipment renting, as well as baby sitting service with playground for the little guests. Since this year, and for the first time, at the location Kelaria, operates a shop for ski and snowboard preservation with the most modern technological machinery.
